Types of Tokens
Utility Tokens
- Provide investors access to use certain features of a project, such as:
- Payment within the project ecosystem
- Discounted fees. VIP perks
- Instead of using the tokens, Investors can sell them on digital asset exchanges for returns.
- Examples: Ethereum, Zetrix, Torum
Asset-backed tokens
- Provide certain rights to real-world assets, such as real estate and luxurious items!
- Token holders get a cut of profits from the sale of underlying assets and, in some cases, they can use the actual asset!
- Examples: MFAI’s tokenized Millenium Sapphire, Kenedix’s tokenized hotel.
Tokenised Shares
- Digital representation of company shares
- Investors get the perks of a share with added efficiency and transferability.
- Examples: Enegra Group, Tokensoft
Tokenised Debt
- Digital representation of debt instruments.
- Investors receive fixed payments from the company in a more efficient and transparent manner
- Examples: DBS Digital Bond, Fusang Echange’s tokenised sukuk
Profit/Revenue Sharing Token
- Represents a claim of future profit or revenue of a project
- Investors receive a portion of the earnings by the underlying project
